Reliability Engineering Superintendent

The Primary role of the Reliability Engineering Superintendent is to identify and implement equipment reliability processes ensuring reliable assets and operating systems at the Clarksville site.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Manages the Reliability Engineering and Predictive Maintenance department personnel within the Asset Management organization.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by ensuring execution of all compliance/regulatory inspections and oversight of all mechanical integrity programs the plant site.
  • Owns reliability processes and continuously improves reliability processes. Ensures the processes are being facilitated to provide value.
  • Develop, document and implement processes aimed at improving fixed, rotating, and mobile equipment reliability.
  • Develop, document and formalize best practices along with specifications to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Provide leadership in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA) efforts across the site.
  • Facilitate and continuously improve internal Reliability programs such as Bad Actors Analysis, Asset Risk Registers, Variance Analysis, and PM Optimization.
  • Analyze maintenance and equipment breakdown patterns, and develops recommended procedures, policies to predict and prevent maintenance issues.
  • Monitors the Predictive Maintenance department’s compliance to monthly maintenance routes and identifies new opportunities to apply predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Build upon existing predictive and other non-destructive testing to drive proactive maintenance.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for fixed and rotating equipment technical support for all operating departments.
  • Define and implement precision maintenance practices and expectations. Provide resources for technical training programs through the maintenance department.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure new or modified equipment is designed for Reliability, Operability, and Maintainability.
  • Participate in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
  • Provide leadership to the core teams in planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or 10-20 years progressive reliability, plant, and/or maintenance engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment (mining, metals processing, refinery, and/or chemical)
  • 5-10 years supervisory experience and/ or supervisory level of certifications.
  • Preferred certifications: CMRP, CRL, CRE, API 580/581. Condition based monitoring certification(s) in vibration, thermography, ultrasound, and/or lubrication are a plus.
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, workflows, policies, and procedures with a focus on best practices and precision maintenance.
  • Experience with CMMS software (preferably SAP).
  • Experience with CAD is a plus.
  • Experience with RCM, RCA, FMEA.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
