LocaliQ and USA TODAY Network’s B2B Client Growth & Transformation team is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Data Science to build a powerhouse team and unlock the transformative potential of data. This newly created position will focus on building a world-class data science and analyst team. This team will focus on developing sophisticated predictive models and creating cutting-edge algorithms to optimize media performance, driving targeted audience engagement, and maximizing campaign ROI for our clients.


  • Director of Data Solutions & Strategy is responsible for building and leading a team to build enterprise-scale data solutions that advance the offerings of USA TODAY’s Direct Marketing and our Performance Solutions products.
  • Oversee B2B Media Solutions data strategy and analytics product services by contributing to shaping the implementation of our data strategy roadmap as it relates to our media solutions products.
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Lead the development of advanced analytic, and Machine Learning capabilities to optimize client marketing engagements and strengthen USA TODAY Network portfolio of products and services.
  • Oversee the development of client-critical data programs and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Responsible for the development of scalable applications and data products in support of efficiencies and growth.
  • Extract and analyze data from internal customer and campaign databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Drive innovation by developing new algorithms, predictive modeling techniques, data products, and analytic capabilities and by pioneering new data sources.
  • Provide leadership on data, analytic, and marketing strategies and partner with our sales organization to create value-add programs and win new business.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to solve key organizational challenges.
  • Hire, train and develop high-performing teams to support growth in existing and new markets fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.


  • 3+ years of management/industry experience with supervisory experience
  • Proven experience delivering Enterprise Data Platforms, Analytics, Modeling & Reporting solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, exhibiting clarity and precision.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional initiatives and mobilizing teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Able to make quick decisions and articulate a plan that is easy to understand.
  • Mastery of SQL and Python as applied to Data Science and Machine Learning
  • Mastery of statistical analysis, algorithm development, machine learning, and state-of-the-art Data Science tools and methodologies
  • Understanding of direct marketing, digital media solutions and strategies

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $119,700 and $247,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
