Gannett / USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a talented Media Strategist to join the Gannett Brand Marketing team. Our brand team sits at the intersection of our cross-functional teams, building our brand strategy and leading initiatives that build authentic relationships with consumers. We are looking for a marketer who can develop and execute media plans for the brands in our portfolio. You will be planning and executing campaigns across social, emerging channels, OOH, and any channels that are the right space for the stories our brand marketing team is trying to tell. We building this discipline from the ground up, so you will be required to develop and execute marketing plans for our campaigns.
The position will report to the Sr. Director, Brand Marketing.
Your Responsibilities:

Support creative brainstorming and planning with our brand strategy and creative teams with a bias toward differentiated media opportunities.

Media planning across social, video, OTT, audio, mobile, and owned channels.

You are a persuasive strategist with the ability to share strategic media plans with leadership for buy-in.

Organize and buy all of the media associated with our media plans.

Produce meaningful KPI dashboards and deliver multi-channel performance reports with actionable insights

Analyzing advertising performance data and extracting actionable insights

Note that this role is not a data analyst role, but this role will work in partnership with our Enterprise Data Management team to build these tools.

You harbor a learning mindset and critical thinking skills. Your curiosity and passions keep you updated on media tools, practices, opportunities, and applications in paid media environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge to develop impactful media plans.
What you bring:

5-7 years of experience in hands-on digital and traditional media planning and execution
-
Deep Knowledge of targeting, segmentation, emerging media, and experience with media buying tools.

Strong ability to articulate media strategy and fresh ideas

Proficiency in social advertising platforms - Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.

Experience finding and executing unique brand activations - unique OOH, experiential, creators/influencers, and brand partnerships that drive media value.

You are an empathetic marketer who can build relationships with our partner organizations - content, product, data, and can guide these groups along our media process.

A positive attitude and the ability to reframe challenges and feedback as opportunities and pivot accordingly.

Impeccable attention to media plan detail, ability to multi-task, and execute plans on time in a fast-paced environment.

Good oral and written communication skills.

All-around team player with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $59,400 and $122,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
