The Financial Project Manager is responsible for managing the Single Copy department initiatives focused on maximizing sales and revenue of newspapers in the retail environment for all Gannett daily publications, including USA TODAY. The position will lead projects with an emphasis on minimizing revenue losses and working through issues that impede sales and revenue maximization. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can manage day-to-day tactical needs, identifying opportunities to create consistencies and efficiencies across our department.

Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000/annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from infancy to deployment, including managing project status and task completion
  • Monitor progress and define results of project initiatives
  • Lead collaboration efforts with the single copy managers to maximize volume and revenue
  • Communicate with all stakeholders, in a timely and effective manner
  • Juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders with a keen eye and attention to detail
  • Prioritize and coordinate initiatives based on volume and revenue opportunity
  • Initiate solutions for one-time initiatives and complete tasks while determining long term process resolution
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics on project completion based on timeline

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred. A minimum of two years of college or equivalent business experience is required
  • Expert skillset with Microsoft Excel functionality
  • Genesys and Champion (Gannett proprietary systems) experience preferred
  • Accounting or Finance field experience preferred
  • Must have exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Keen attention to details
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Possess well-rounded analytical abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient in One Drive for the management of projects

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $38,700 and $81,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications, and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
