Partner Manager, Partnerships

USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a Partner Manager, Partnerships to report to the Executive Director of New Business, Partnerships, who will primarily be responsible for proactively forging partnerships and licensing relationships on behalf of Gannett.

Over the last 5 years, Gannett has made significant inroads establishing partnerships with key content portals, social platforms and industry leaders. We are one of the largest news and sports syndicators through our USA TODAY and sports enthusiast brands. And our local newspapers have informed communities across the U.S. for decades.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Partnerships executive with a strong project management background as well as a desire to work within a high-growth business unit.

This role can be based in NYC, Washington, D.C., Atlanta or Remote from any state except Alaska & Hawaii.

Responsibilities:

  • Research new partnership opportunities and aid in the planning and outreach to new partners; develop sales materials.
  • Drive cross functional efforts, project manage launch and operationalize new partnerships.
  • Identify and track key performance indicators to measure success and drive progress.
  • Create new workflows, improve existing business operations, and ensure seamless execution of new initiatives.
  • Execute the team’s strategic plans with efficiency and thorough planning to drive rapid growth.
  • Evangelize the vision and status of strategic partnership initiatives to senior executives and coworkers at all levels of the organization.
  • Keep abreast of technology/media industry trends and market conditions.
  • Ensure regular communication with partners to stay up to date on growth opportunities/performance.
  • Provide regular analysis and insights to the Partnerships and Leadership team in order to support business decisions.
  • Assist in the business development of new and existing partnerships by identifying new opportunities and providing business modeling support.
  • Work with team to ensure partner oversight, deal fulfillment, and business strategy is properly executed.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of competitive marketplace and provide team with regular briefings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, account management, partnerships or sales at a publisher, agency, media company, etc.
  • Strong ability to see bigger picture while operating in the details, to solve problems and to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with CRM and workflow management tools.
  • Detail oriented and data obsessed.
  • Experience working with multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting partner-facing executives.
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, and creative problem solver.
  • Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form.
  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400.00 and $161,000.00. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable. ​
