Summary: The Tech I position is normally assigned to a Production Shift to ensure the smooth efficient operation of the extrusion lines and all other mechanical mechanisms within the plant. Techs are to wear all PPE for protection against safety hazards. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Reports To: Maintenance Manager Duties/Responsibilities: - Must be able to fabricate using electric arc, welder and cutting torch.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with ability to troubleshoot and repair.
- Knowledge of drill press, grinders and band saws/ basic knowledge of troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic equipment such as valves cylinders, and pumps.
- Basic knowledge of bearings, shafts, pulleys, reduction, and distribution gearboxes, transmissions, etc.
- Understand NEMA codes.
- Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Ability to read a depth gauge, calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for basic machining and fabricating.
- Ability to read ohms, amps, and volts
- Basic AC/DC motor knowledge, wiring and troubleshooting
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience, training, or education on any of the above is a plus.
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Assistance is required when lifting anything over 50 lbs.
- Must have no fear of heights and ability to climb ladders
