Site Quality Coordinator
Job Description:
The Quality Site Coordinator is responsible for supporting project quality assurance and quality control activities at assigned jobsites and fabrication facilities. This role assists with inspections, documentation management, turnover packages, compliance tracking, and coordination between
field operations, customers, subcontractors, and the Quality Department.
The Quality Site Coordinator helps ensure all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, applicable codes, and customer requirements. This position requires regular travel to project sites and may involve extended periods away from home depending on project demands
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Quality Coordination & Compliance
- Support implementation of project-specific quality plans, procedures, and inspection requirements.
- Coordinate quality activities between field operations, project management, subcontractors, and customers.
- Assist with inspection scheduling, documentation tracking, and turnover package preparation.
- Verify quality documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained according to company standards.
- Monitor compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and customer requirements.
- Assist with non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and punch list tracking.
- Maintain material traceability records, weld logs, inspection reports, and calibration documentation.
Field Support
- Conduct field observations and assist inspectors with quality verification activities.
- Coordinate customer inspections and third-party inspections as required.
- Support hydrotesting, weld inspections, coatings inspections, and mechanical completion activities.
- Participate in project walkdowns and turnover processes.
- Communicate quality concerns to project leadership and operations teams.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy quality records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and project-specific quality reports.
- Track inspection status, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Assist with compiling turnover books and final project documentation packages.
Travel & Site Support
- Travel regularly to active construction sites, fabrication shops, and customer facilities.
- Support multiple project locations as needed.
- Participate in outage, shutdown, and turnaround support activities when required.
- Maintain flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or travel schedules based on project demands.
Desired Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical training in Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Welding, Quality, or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in industrial construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or quality support roles preferred.
- Experience with QA/QC documentation and industrial project environments preferred.
- Familiarity with welding, piping, structural steel, coatings, or mechanical systems is a plus.
Certifications Preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- AWS CWI (or CWI preparation/training)
- NCCER credentials
- ISO 9001 familiarity
- First Aid/CPR certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational and documentation management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and within project teams.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, and work on uneven terrain.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to access active construction sites, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and industrial facilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, and fall protection equipment as required.
Work Environment
- Combination of field construction sites, fabrication shops, and temporary office
environments. - Exposure to industrial equipment, welding operations, noise, dust, and varying
environmental conditions. - Frequent travel required, including overnight travel and extended project assignments.
- Extended work hours, weekends, and holiday work may be required based on project
schedules.
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel required to customer sites, jobsites, and fabrication facilities.
- Ability to travel for extended durations depending on project needs.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
