Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled OB/GYN Physician to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an OB/GYN Physician, you will provide high-quality medical care to women of all ages, from adolescence to menopause. Your expertise will encompass a wide range of services, including prenatal care, deliveries, gynecologic surgeries, and routine check-ups.

General Statement of Duties: Provides medical care related to pregnancy or childbirth. Diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent diseases of women that are related to the reproductive system. May also provide general medical care of women.

Essential Functions: (Examples of Duties)

  1. Collect, record, and maintain patient information such as medical histories, reports, and examination results.
  2. Ability to utilize an electronic medical record and complete documentation in a timely manner.
  3. Care for women during pregnancy and childbirth.
  4. Treat diseases of female organs medically and surgically.
  5. Treat chronic diseases or disorders.
  6. Inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN treatment. Deliveries and major surgeries are performed at one hospital with access to free standing surgery center for minor surgeries.
  7. Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  8. Perform cesarean sections, or other surgical procedures, as needed in the obstetrical patient.
  9. Perform surgery on patients to treat a variety of gynecological conditions.
  10. Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the medical condition of a patient.
  11. Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  12. Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
  13. Provide health and wellness advice to patients or other healthcare providers.
  14. Refer patients to medical specialists or sub-specialist when necessary.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment. Advise medical personnel regarding healthcare issues.

Qualifications

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Tennessee state licensure or in the process of obtaining or ability to achieve Tennessee state licensure.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or in the process of obtaining board certification.
  • Ability to perform the activities and functions of a full-time general obstetrician and gynecologist.
  • Willing to work with colleagues and clinical staff in a collaborative manner and be an enthusiastic team member.
  • The call schedule will be once every 4-5 days and every 4th or 5th weekend.

Education: DO or MD degree

Experience: Residency Trained, Board Eligible, or Board Certified

Licenses/Certifications: TN State

Working Conditions: Traditional physician office setting. Business office and clinical environment with medical office equipment, supplies, chemicals and gases. Position may require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and universal precautions.

Physical Demands: Requires standing, walking and sitting for extensive periods of time.
