Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse/Paramedic to join our team

as an Occupational Health Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is to cover

on-call times- primarily 24 hour on call shifts- administer drug tests and conduct

occupational health assessments for employees on-site at various locations. The ideal

candidate will possess strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to

promoting workplace safety and employee wellness.

Essential Functions:

1. Conducting drug tests using various methodologies, including urine, saliva, and hair

follicle tests.

2. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of drug testing procedures, including specimen

collection, labeling, and chain of custody documentation.

3. Performing occupational health assessments, including medical histories, physical

examinations, and health screenings, to evaluate employee fitness for duty.

4. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including physicians and laboratory

technicians, to interpret drug test results and provide appropriate post-injury care.

5. Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations in handling employee

health information and drug test results.

7. Assisting in the development and implementation of occupational health programs

and initiatives to promote employee wellness and safety.

8. Participating in workplace health and safety committees and contributing to the

development of policies and procedures related to drug testing and occupational health.


Qualifications

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse (RN) or Paramedic certification with a valid license to practice in

Tennessee. (Preference for dual licensure in TN/KY or a compact state.)

2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, or a

related field.

3. Certification in drug testing procedures preferred.

4. Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to perform thorough medical

evaluations.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively

with employees at all levels of the organization.

6. Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to drug testing, including DOT

regulations, is desirable.

7. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations and

handle sensitive information with discretion.

8. Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health record systems and

Microsoft Office applications.

9. Maintain current certifications in Basic Life Support (CPR), Basic First Aid,

Boodborne Pathogens.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for long periods of time with little or no difficulty.

Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
