Position Description

We are looking for an experienced and responsible EHS Specialist to join our team. As a Specialist, you will be responsible for helping to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines as well as environmental regulations. Your main goal will be to help ensure safe working environment as the protection of the environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and continual improvement of an EHS culture that ensures employee safety and health as well is being protective of the environment.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of environmental, health and safety management systems, in alignment with ISO standards, including programs, policies, procedures, etc.
• Advise and lead employees on various EHS-related topics.
• Prepare and conduct training on EHS related topics including new employee onboarding.
• Conduct risk assessments and Job Hazard Analysis.
• Coach and enforce preventative and protective measures.
• Prepare and present reports on EHS incidents and violations including root cause analysis, immediate and permanent corrective actions.
• Oversee workplace repair, contractors, installations, and any other work that could affect employees' safety and/or the environment.
• Conduct periodic audits and inspections and identify gaps and solutions.
• Identify areas of opportunity and work with others to make continual improvements.

Qualifications

• ​​​​​​BS/BA in safety management or similar field
• Certifications in occupational health, first aid or emergency response a plus
• 2 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
• Knowledge of legislations and procedures
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience with writing reports, policies and procedures for health and safety
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Working knowledge of EHS management information systems used for data and reporting
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
