Job Title: Community Bank Account Executive (Secondary Market)

Department: Mortgage

Reports To: VP/Director of Mortgage Lending

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary/Purposes:

The Community Bank Account Executive is responsible for growing, maintaining, and supporting the Legends Bank’s Community Bank Program, which provides secondary market mortgage services to partner banks. This role is essential in expanding the program’s reach, maximizing opportunities with current and prospective bank partners, and supporting the onboarding and success of new relationships. This position requires frequent travel across the Southeast U.S. region and involves relationship management, business development, and collaboration with internal operations and training teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and establish relationships with community banks across the Southeast U.S. that lack secondary market mortgage capabilities or wish to outsource their operations.
  • Proactively pursue new business opportunities through outreach, in-person visits, and attendance at industry conferences and events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned bank partners, maintaining strong relationships through regular communication and site visits.
  • Work with partner banks to grow referral networks, develop preferred lender agreements, and explore additional opportunities for collaboration.
  • Monitor and assess partner performance and satisfaction, offering strategic guidance to help them meet volume and service goals.
  • Collaborate with the operations and training teams to facilitate onboarding and ensure a smooth transition for new bank partners.
  • Provide hands-on support for partner staff training, ensuring they are proficient in systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between partner banks and internal teams to address issues, relay feedback, and coordinate support services.

  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, regulatory requirements, and community bank operations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight trips (multiple days per week as needed).
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships and grow market share.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Education and/or Experience:

Proven experience in mortgage banking, business development, or financial services, preferably in secondary market mortgage lending.
