Description
This is a trainee position, designed to lead to employment opportunities as a Delivery Representative. This is an entry-level position that typically would be filled by someone with minimal or no experience in the beverage distribution field but who holds or is able to promptly obtain a CDL-A Permit.
The Trainee Driver's primary duties include:
- Learning and following the Company programs and policies that will result in the safe execution of timely delivery, maximized sales and minimized returns
- Observe, and then practice, the daily Pre-Trip Inspection of the assigned vehicle and learn to identify what tools and equipment are needed for that day's deliveries and make sure they are available on the truck
- Maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the company
- Learn and follow all DOT regulations and should pay special attention to learning the regulations that apply to driver time of service.
- Learn and follow the Delivery Structure and Processes and how to identify and fulfill spot sales opportunities
- Learn how to read and use the product coding for product freshness and will assist others on the Delivery team in moving product as necessary
- Must know theCompany's image and understand the importance of maintaining a high level of neatness and cleanliness in each store's displays and coolers
- Pay close attention during "work with" and "ride with" days between the Delivery Manager and the Route Driver in order to benefit and learn from those coaching and training opportunities in the field.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, starting at 5 a.m. and ending when all deliveries are completed.

Qualifications
This is a very physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to lift up to 60lbs, repetitively throughout the day.This position requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. A Class-A CDL Permit is strongly preferred. If you do not currently hold a Class-A CDL Permit, you must be willing and able to obtain one within a reasonable time frame.
