Job Title: Mold&Bladder Engineer I
Department: TP)Production Management Team
Shift: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Direct Report: Mold&Bladder Unit Manager
Type: Exempt; Full-time

About the position

We are looking for a reliable individual to learn and coordinate all activities in the Mold&Bladder section of the Production Management Team while focusing on continuous improvement and eliminating waste.

You should be a good problem solver with creative approach to your tasks, deeply concerned about quality and efficiency and well-versed in the latest technology trends and best practices.

Responsibilities are:

  • Support development and implementation of work rules for handling and managing tire mold and tire bladder equipment and presses, procedures for conducting repairs and communicating the necessary tools, material, and equipment to the TN Plant Purchasing Team for requisition
  • Acquire the skills to determine the appropriate materials required for requisitioning to repair and maintain the production equipment within the department
  • Support inventory oversight of mold equipment while ensuring effective communication regarding the arrival and departure of production molds
  • Support monitoring of mold repair and modification orders within the G.MOIM internal management system
  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships with suppliers and other external entities to address mold repair requirements effectively
  • Investigate and document damaged production molds; research mold repair price quotes; organize, analyze, and report price quotes to management
  • Develop and maintain department documentation to include mold blueprints, storage inventory list, ISO/TS16949 and other quality system requirements, etc.
  • Support the management of bladder equipment inventory while promoting clear communication regarding ordering requirements
  • Monitor bladder cycles and develop strategies to enhance bladder longevity
  • Support the development of training materials for the Mold&Bladder department
  • Support definition and application of efficient 5S in Mold&Bladder storage areas
  • Perform administrative tasks related to daily production
  • Coordinate purchase orders and invoice approvals with other functional departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements are:

    Education:

    • (Required) bachelor's degree, field of science or learning major
    • (Preferred) computer sciences or mechanical engineering major

    Experience:

    • (Required) 0+ years of proven engineering experience in the manufacturing industry

    Language:

    • (Required) good command of written and spoken English

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
    • Engineering and Technology - Demonstrated know-how related to practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
    • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
    • Mechanical - Functional knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Applied understanding of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance methodologies
    • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
    • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
    • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
    • Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
    • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
    • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
    • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
