Job Title: Cutting Line Leader
Department: TP)Manufacturing Team 2
Shift: Must be willing to work any shift
Direct Report: Cutting Group Leader
Type: Non-Exempt; Full-time
Cutting Line Leader responsibilities are:
- Perform all work safely and according to company standards
- Work well with others within the team and throughout the organization
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position
- Ensure defined safety procedures, work standards, and work instructions are followed by MFT Cutting team members on shift
- Conduct daily audits (ex. 5S, Work Standards, etc.) as required. Report any out-of-standard conditions to the Group Leader
- Adjust daily staffing assignments as needed. Maintain production flow through the department
- Start-up & shutdown Cutting equipment as necessary
- Coordinate proper operator training with Group Leader to ensure operator knowledge meets company standards
- Monitor the inventory level of supplies. Order or refill, as necessary
- Complete & submit daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required (ex. Work logs, weekly/monthly inventories, etc.)
- Restore flow as required. Relieve operators for breaks and short-term absences as required
- Report any out-of-standard condition or nonconformities to GL and engineers
- Secure maintenance personnel for equipment repair as required
- Take / coordinate monthly and annual inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Cutting Line Leader requirements are:
Education:
- (Required) high school diploma or GED
Experience:
- (Required) at least 6 months of Hankook Tire cutting department experience
Language:
- (Required) good command of written and spoken English
Additional Qualifications:
- (Required) No more than 4 attendance points per Hankook Tire policy
- (Required) Have received a rating no lower than "meets expectations" on the most recent performance review in Safety, Quality, and Quantity/Productivity
- (Required) Not currently on a final warning for any reason other than attendance within the last 12 months
- (Required) Currently up-to-date on LMS training with no past-due requirements
Skills & Knowledge:
- Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
- Operations Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Critical Thinking Skills - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively
- Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms; and to talk and hear
- Must be capable of climbing up and down a ladder/stairs several times per shift
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
- Mobility throughout the facility
- Employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, walk, or crouch
- Employee must lift and/or move up to 55 pounds unassisted on occasion
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
