Shift: Nights 545pm-6am or Days 545am-6pm, 2-2-3 fixed schedule (Shift placement will be based on position availability)
Direct Report: Health & Safety Unit Manager

About the EHS Leader position
We are looking for an EHS Leader who will ensure technical and behavioral compliance with environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations and drive activities for a safe and environmentally friendly workplace.
EHS Leader responsibilities are:
- Lead the designated shift toward a positive safety and environmentally friendly culture
- Communicate with the Senior EHS Specialist on a regular basis; provide them with feedback
- Identify and control risks with the target of elimination of all risks
- Understand the product and its composition, and develop procedures for detection, prevention and elimination of physical, chemical or other related product hazards
- Participate and conduct regular wall-to-wall safety reviews, document findings, develop prioritized action plans and coordinate with other organizations to rectify timely
- Review, update, and implement safety policies
- Provide up-to-date safety information to the management; support decision-making processes
- Actively support the establishment of the annual budget plan for the EHS Department
- Enforce safety rules and regulations along with environmental laws and regulations
- Responsible for conducting Accident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis on shift
- Perform ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 complaint risk assessments
- Responsible for ensuring the Safe Work Permits, Confined Space Entry, and Hot Work Permits are completed and that employees are trained
- Responsible for spill response
- Develop optimal working relationships with operations and maintenance leadership to ensure timely and proper insight into their issues requiring safety and environmental expertise
- Plan, organize and deliver training programs to meet required work standards
- Proactively assess safety and environmental risks on site; inspect potential hazards, use problem identification and solving techniques in resolving issues
- Regular review of the entire company premise to ensure compliance, identify deficiencies, develop action plans to resolve, and follow-up
- Active involvement in the design, set-up, and run-off of new equipment and processes
- Fully support the facility’s ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
EHS Leader requirements are:
Education:
- (Required) high school diploma or GED
- (Preferred) bachelor's degree; occupational safety and health, environmental safety and health, or related major
- (Preferred) advanced degree in a related field
Experience:
- (Required) 4+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma/equivalent
- OR
- (Required) 0+ years of previous experience with a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health
Language:
- (Required) good command of written and spoken English
Skills & Knowledge:
- Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
- Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe and security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Active Listening & Speaking - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times; talking to others to convey information effectively
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
