Supply Chain Management (SCMSS) Senior Specialist – Strategy & Process Improvement
Position Overview
The SCMSS Senior Specialist – Strategy & Process Improvement is responsible for advancing the organization’s supply chain strategy through analysis, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. This role emphasizes strategic planning, continuous improvement, and end-to-end supply chain effectiveness rather than transactional execution.
The position drives improvements across procurement, inventory, logistics, and customer fulfillment by applying data-driven insights and market intelligence. Responsibilities include managing local logistics partners, supporting CPFR processes, and serving as a key liaison between supply chain, sales, and customers. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of inventory management, customer requirements, and market dynamics.
Core Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Network Planning
Contribute to the development and execution of mid- and long-term supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and market demand.
Evaluate end-to-end supply chain performance to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Support strategic initiatives related to network design, inventory placement, capacity planning, and supply continuity.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Define, standardize, and document supply chain processes, policies, and performance measures.
Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and IT to streamline workflows and improve utilization of ERP and planning systems.
Inventory & Supply Planning
Assess inventory performance, working capital, and turnover to drive optimization initiatives.
Establish inventory policies that balance service level targets, demand variability, and supply constraints.
Monitor supplier and logistics performance to ensure reliable customer service while managing cost and risk.
Market Intelligence & Customer Alignment
Track market conditions, demand trends, and supply risks including logistics constraints and external disruptions.
Convert market and customer insights into actionable supply chain strategies and plans.
Support alignment between sales forecasts, supply plans, and customer service expectations.
Analytics & Performance Reporting
Develop dashboards and analytical tools to monitor key supply chain KPIs such as service levels, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy.
Deliver concise, executive-level insights and recommendations based on data analysis and business context.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
20+ years of experience in supply chain strategy, planning, or process improvement roles.
Strong expertise in inventory management and end-to-end supply chain operations.
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic decisions.
Demonstrated success working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle and advanced planning or analytics tools.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
Experience supporting global supply chains and U.S. market operations.
Strong communication and influencing skills across multiple levels of the organization.
