Job Title: Sulfuric Acid Room Operator
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: On-Site, Clarksville, TN

Job Summary:
The Sulfuric Acid Operator is responsible for maintaining and adjusting acid specifications for multiple destinations within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Monitors machine operation to detect malfunctions and ensures that outputs conform to specifications
- Performs periodic checks of acid specifications and updates/maintains records of required documentation
- Reads and interprets daily log reports, specification chart, and production schedule
- Recognizes patterns of information, and effectively translates patterns to inform future actions
- Adjusts machine to regulate flow of ingredients and corrects output specifications as needed
- Receives shipments of raw materials and monitors delivery process
- Establishes priorities and proceeds with objectives independently
- Develops and maintains strong communication between several departments within production operations
- Prioritizes, initiates and follows through on issue resolution as needed (i.e. chemical troubleshooting, competing tasks, unexpected events)
- Adapts to business needs as situations arise while minimizing waste and ensuring environmental compliance
- Performs all activities in a safe and responsible manner. Supports all requirements, programs, policies and procedures as necessary
- The use of a respirator and other PPE will be required in certain instances or tasks
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Exceptional Communication: Including active speaking / listening / reading / writing skills in accordance with standard business practices
- Critical Thinking / Troubleshooting: Using logic and reasoning to identify problems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Multi-Tasking: Managing multiple responsibilities at once by focusing on one task while keeping track of others
- Details: Must have attention to detail for all areas of work, especially in record-keeping and organization of projects; efficient in daily tasks
- Ethical Behavior: Must maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of company affairs; must conduct business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.
Education & Experience:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Previous chemistry-related experience or education

Physical Demands:
Physical demands may include but not limited to the following:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
- Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets.
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE while in production area.
- Must be able to pass Physical Exam
- Must be able to pass a (PFT) Pulmonary Function Test for respirator wear
