JOB TITLE: Purchasing Associate

DEPARTMENT: Corporate Management

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Salary Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Purchasing Associate coordinates with appropriate internal and external parties on all executive levels to facilitate the proper strategy for the purchase of material, equipment, and professional services. Coordination may include negotiation with suppliers and internal parties, developing recommendations on purchasing transactions, and taking appropriate actions to achieve team and company objectives.

RESPONSIBLITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Review prices, product specifications and requirements from various suppliers to determine which would provide the best deal: Identify potential vendors with which to arrange contracts
  • Perform internal approval procedure for purchasing
  • Track and monitor all purchases including raw & subsidiary materials and MRO supplies, from initial order to delivery: Make sure the company receives exactly what was ordered from suppliers: Cross-reference product deliveries with purchase orders
  • Communicate with suppliers and manage customer inquiries about order changes or cancellations and check requisition orders for accuracy
  • Enforce all purchasing policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly reports listing all purchases, returns and related costs
  • Control custom issues for importing materials and responsible for the movement of goods from another country, ensuring the transit and delivery is made on time
  • Handle ERP program (SAP) related to purchasing, budgeting and spending.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Exceptional Communication: Including active speaking/listening, reading/writing skills which can make communicate with all workers
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify problems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Computer Skills: Advanced MS Office skills to include Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote, Outlook, and SharePoint; the ability to learn other systems and programs used by the company
  • Ethical Behavior: Must maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of company affairs; must conduct business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations or personal advantage or gain
  • Details: Must have attention to details for all area and all workers
  • Active social interaction: Including active social interaction which can build good relationship with all workers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Multilingual Korean and English preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands may include but not limited to the following:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets.
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE while in production area.

TRAVEL:

Less than 5% business travel required
