Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer I
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer I is responsible for providing engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production output. This position recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Other duties may be assigned as needed by management.
- Design and improve systems and processes for existing or new products.
- Confer with Production Manager to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Plan and establish production schedules and sequences to meet production goals.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving, and process improvement activities.
- Investigate production and process issues, providing technical support and training.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
- Assist in developing plant layout and planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment, and operations for better utilization of space.
- Design training programs and technical guides for production and maintenance staff.
- Source new equipment and material suppliers as required.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
- Conduct monthly inventory, identify, document, and investigate discrepancies
- Write and manage work instructions and One Point Lessons
- Prepare for OE audits and quality inspections
- Complete supportive tasks in the Manufacturing Team
Qualifications & Skills:
- Exceptional Communication: Including active speaking/listening, reading/writing skills in accordance with standard business practices and decorum
- Critical Thinking/Troubleshooting: Using logic and reasoning to identify problems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Details: Must have attention to details for all areas of work
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, basic understanding of MS Office, and the ability to learn other computer programs.
- Ethical Behavior: Must maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of company affairs; must conduct business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Required to climb, balance, bend, squat, reach, grasp, and hand dexterity. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required

Physical Demands:
Physical demands may include but not limited to the following:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and ascend/descend stairs and ladders.
- May use scissor lifts or boom lifts on occasion
- Must be able to navigate throughout inside and outside the facility
- Must be able to effectively operate a computer
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE while in production area.
- Must be able to pass a (PFT) Pulmonary Function Test for respirator wear
