POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Prill Prep Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating prilling equipment to create small, spherical granules (prills) and ensuring product quality. Additionally, you will handle various tasks involving forklift operation, including loading and unloading trucks, and performing routine maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Equipment Operation: Operate batching equipment to create small, spherical granules (prills).
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor prilling process parameters such as temperature, flow rates, and pressure.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality by adjusting process variables and troubleshooting issues.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on batching equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift for offloading and loading tasks.
  • Bagging: Unload silos into bags, ensuring accurate bag weights to prevent truck overloading.
  • Truck Loading/Unloading: Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
  • Department Support: Assist with various cleaning tasks as required. Receive training on multiple pieces of equipment for backup support.

  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Materials: Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Critical Thinking: Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Comprehension: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Active Learning: ability to learn and understand new information and apply it to problem solving and decision making.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or production, including forklift operation preferred.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including the ability to consistently lift up to 70 lbs. lifting and standing for majority of shifts.
  • Possess some level of mechanical aptitude.
