Job Objective:
To support business leadership within Supply Chain Distribution & Fulfillment and drive improved business performance as the embedded Finance expert and primary resource for all strategic Finance related activities, promoting data-based decision making through first-class performance analysis.
Location:
This role is open to 100% remote work with some travel for in house collaboration and meetings. If local to Hampton Roads, opportunity to work out of Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA with a flex in office/remote schedule.
Responsibilities:
Understand the numbers to identify ways of adding value to the business and challenging others to find ways of improving productivity and efficiency, adding value and facilitating profitable growth
Anticipate the potential impact of change; develop and adapt strategy so the business maintains its competitive edge and maintains its position as the “industry benchmark”
Act as a catalyst between the business and Finance so there is synchronized thinking and an understanding of information requirements, challenges and priorities
Challenge and support business decisions with analytical rigor, insights, and judgments so that better decisions are made
Task the business to control costs and support them in managing any divergences from targets being proactive in developing solutions
Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the team, supporting initiatives and partnering activities
Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and deliver high quality and timely results
Balance long term business priorities with shorter term financial targets/budgets to advise leadership
Continuous research of the financial and competitive landscapes, including analysis of legislative, economic, and competitive industry trends
Partner with adjacent finance departments, field finance leadership, and other areas of the business (IT, Facilities, HR, etc.) as an advocate for the regional and market distribution centers, and major ship hubs
Finance liaison for distribution & fulfillment and the supported branch network
Occasionally travel within assigned markets
Providing Ad Hoc analysis including Budgeting, Forecasting, Strategic Plan and Variance Analysis
Qualifications:
Supply chain Industry experience preferred within the wholesale sector
Internal candidates have experience supporting the blended business
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required (MBA or CPA preferred)
Motivated self-starter keen to work on their own initiative, and at times under pressure
Solid understanding of how the business (Corporately and locally) is designed, to include the origin of revenues and the nature of expenditures in delivering core proficiencies
Outstanding and professional written and oral communication skills
Proven ability to communicate and explain complex finance and operational issues to a diverse audience (i.e. branch employees to senior executives)
Maintain a high degree of emotional intelligence and stability working with a multitude of personalities and within a fast-paced work environment
Proven ability to work across functions and delegate tasks to centralized functions such as Accounting or IT
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling
Strong ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, and prepare/deliver executive grade presentations
Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%-15%)

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$9,225.00 - $15,033.70-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
