Ferguson has an exciting role open as an IT Auditor on our integrated Internal Audit team!
Please note: This position is 100% remote. Candidates may live anywhere in the continental United States. There are some occasional in-person meetings out of Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA. The ability and willingness to travel at times required.
Responsibilities:
Performs design and operating effectiveness testing for Sarbanes Oxley IT General Controls (ITGC) with little to no oversight from the Senior Auditor and/or applicable IT Audit Management.
Completes detailed and quality workpapers that includes corroborative evidence to support audit conclusions within the expected deadlines.
Applies feedback or review comments from submitted workpapers and demonstrates continuous improvement in their documentation or testing.
Effectively communicates testing status, conclusions, and sharing knowledge with team members.
Takes initiative in contributing outside of SOX Audit testing to improve collaboration among the team or partners, project management, and/or team-building activities.
Conducts ITGC walkthrough meetings (access security, IT operations, and change management) with control owners to understand the processes and gather evidence.
Develops and maintains good relationships with our audit partners.
Continuously seeks opportunities to learn key audit processes/testing framework/methodology.
Participates in IT audits including assessment of ITGC, information security, cybersecurity and system implementation project planning and implementation protocol.
Participates in the opening, status, exit, and closing meetings.
Drafts and communicates control deficiencies to our audit partners and performs a root cause analysis.
Ensure all cited deficiencies, documented workpapers, and conclusions are tracked and uploaded within AuditBoard.
Assists with drafting audit reports, special projects, and other assignments, as needed.
Attend in-person trainings/team meetings as required (generally on a quarterly basis).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Information Management, MIS, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting or related combinations or degrees with business and technical mix).
3-5 years of relevant work experience with public accounting firm, consulting audit firm, or internal audit.
Professional certifications (CISA, CPA, or CIA preferred)
Strong understanding of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
Strong understanding of IT risk and general information security concepts and technology infrastructure.
Understanding of core IT general control processes (e.g., Information Security, Change Management, Agile System Development Lifecycle, IT Operations etc.).
Understanding of Business Process controls is a plus.
Knowledge of technical platforms, networks, security concepts, and data retrieval techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerBI, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$4,799.70 - $7,791.30-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
