Senior Pricing Analyst - Construction

FSI is looking to hire a Senior Pricing Analyst for construction to join our team.

Job Summary

This position is primarily an Excel data input and analysis position, working hand in hand with Project managers, which encompasses the following efforts:

The Senior Pricing Analyst for Construction will support a diverse cross-functional team in the development of compliant, responsive, and competitive proposals. The Senior Pricing Analyst is responsible for activities related to pricing/business volume responses ranging from simple to highly complex U.S. Government contracts. Must be able to multi-task and coordinate conflicting priorities in a fast-paced schedule driven environment. This position supports all phases of the cost proposal process from proposal development through negotiations. Work closely with the Construction Department team to estimate target contract/subcontractor bid rates and collect responses through pricing data calls. Support proposed pricing with compliant bases of estimates for competitive salaries, levels of effort, and other cost inputs. Interface with senior leaders, senior project managers, subcontractors, and bidding partners. Present pricing progress and updates in management reviews.

Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Work closely with Project Managers (PM) in developing proposal bids in Excel. This is NOT a standalone position
  • Collects cost data from representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Perform competitor analysis on similar products and services
  • Scope out opportunities based on market trends and industry condition
  • Identify ideal pricing structures and sales funnels
  • Prepare several bids at once despite shifting deadlines and company priorities
  • Utilize Government-provided cost templates and/or creating your own cost models
  • Effectively communicate findings to appropriate departments of the company
  • Address issues and concerns raised by team members relating to pricing suggestions
  • Read and understand government regulations related to the development and negotiation of cost proposals (ex: FAR, DFARS, CAS, TINA)
  • Work effectively under time critical deadlines and stressful situations
  • Must be able to multi-task and coordinate conflicting priorities in a fast-paced schedule driven environment
  • New Pricing/Business proposals, change proposals and task/delivery orders spanning a variety of contract types and awards with various U.S. Government Agencies
  • Perform competitor analysis on similar products and services using a variety of analytical and research techniques
  • Draft strategic pricing plans and processes to improve existing projects
  • Create reports reflecting metrics and project status, objectives and barriers
  • Identify key financial risks related to proposed solution and ability to run hypothetical analyses and recommend strategies.
  • Work with the sales and marketing team to define pricing structure for company products
  • Prepares cost reports and presents findings to team and address issues and concerns relating to pricing suggestions
  • Assisting with the contracts and procurement process including putting together procurement packages.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Working knowledge of construction preferred, but not required
  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Construction related field of study
  • Related experience in finance and knowledge of cost/pricing practices and preparing estimates
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to make cold calls with PM direction
  • Must be a good listener and be detailed in follow-up
  • Strong analytical and research skills with an eye for identifying opportunity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment delivering quality results to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with government contract bidding process Experience working as a Pricing Analyst in the Federal Market
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced MS Excel skills a must
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good negotiations and problem-solving skills
  • Effective reporting and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic and proactive team player
  • Experience using Government-provided cost templates as well as building complex cost models from scratch required
  • Price strategy, price-to-win and/or competition analyses experience
