Proposal Manager
FSI is looking to hire a Proposal Manager to join our team.
Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring a proposal is created effectively and within its deadline. Proposal managers lead the BD team in efficiently making and completing company proposals Give assignments and proposal deadlines to the BD team and provide BD Director updates about your proposal timelines. Collaborating with other departments to write and implement proposals. Reports to the BD Director.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage multiple proposals at the same time.
- Attends pre-proposal conferences and site visits.
- Participate in full proposal lifecycle; organize proposal efforts, coordinate color team reviews (including documentation), schedule work sessions and check-in meetings.
- Break down Request For Proposals (RFPs), coordinate Request For Information (RFI) responses, and presentations.
- Work directly with Capture Managers, BD Director, Technical Leads, and SMEs associated with FSI partners and subcontractors to create proposal content strategy, plans, and understanding of customer needs.
- Develop compliance matrix and coordinate internal/external evaluation of the technical, management, past performance, and overall proposal approaches, including senior management sign-off.
- Maintain quality by using consistent proposal templates, following standards for a concise and well written proposal, as well as SOW requirements.
- Assist in final production, evaluating text and graphics; coordinating printing if required, and ensuring timely delivery of proposals in accordance with RFP instructions.
- Create easy to digest documentation, utilizing diagrams, charts, and graphs when applicable to streamline text and make documentation easy to read for reviewers. Write clear and concise assigned proposal section.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Associate degree in English, Communications or equivalent or minimum 5 years’ experience developing proposals or other related experience.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills, including grammar and composition.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational, follow through, and staff and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively; ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to react well under pressure in high-stressed situations; accept responsibility for own actions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to travel to job locations by commercial airline.
- Must be able to perform work at job locations other than the corporate office for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to work in the sitting position for 8 or more hours per day.
- Must be able to work at a computer station for extended period of time.
- Must be able to handle stressful conditions and make multiple decisions concerning job operations on a daily basis.
