EVS On-Call Supervisor
Job Summary
FSI would like to hire a part-time EVS On-Call Supervisor to join our team. This position coordinates the work of employees engaged in cleaning and maintaining the medical center to ensure the facility is clean and sanitized. Directly supervises non-exempt staff. This position reports to the EVS Manager and Assistant Manager. The hours and shift will vary based on the needs of supervisor coverage.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assigns tasks to housekeeping employees and monitors the progress.
- Spot checks employees' work to ensure compliance with housekeeping standards, performs daily performance inspections of assigned areas.
- Identifies new supplies and materials required for housekeeping duties and coordinates the requisitions with the purchaser.
- Assists in resolving personnel issues or complaints among housekeeping staff members.
- Directs housekeeping staff members regarding changes to the workload requirements in their area caused by contract requirement changes or construction.
- Provides training, guidance, and education for housekeeping employees.
- Issues supplies and equipment.
- Ensures staff members utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate and perform in compliance with established safety procedures.
- Ensures staff members are wearing appropriate uniform with proper placement of badge in compliance with company policies and contract requirements.
- Notifies Call Center of any facility deficiencies immediately.
- Analysis of QC system's data to monitor trends and works with staff accordingly to improve their performance on a daily basis.
- Maintains facility section scores at or above contract required levels.
- Ensures all room logs are signed off on every shift, if applicable.
- Assists in promoting a positive work environment and culture.
- Completes weekly eyewash station inspection and water flushing.
- Sends daily communication logs.
- Sends daily EVS call/project logs to government by deadline, if applicable.
- Performs daily inspections on housekeeping equipment for safety, breakage and wear. Makes recommendations for repair or replacement.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, management background or associate degree or higher is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in all phases of housekeeping and floor care.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
- Capable of interpreting and implementing all requirements of the contract.
- Responsible for management and training of all assigned shift personnel.
- Ability to understand contract terms.
- Knowledge of hospital aseptic cleaning and requirements.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Valid Driver License
- Must meet or exceed comparable industry certification training. Prefer Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) certification through International Executive Housekeeping Association, Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) with AHE, Certified Healthcare Environmental Service Technician (CHEST) with AHE, Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) with IEHA and OSHA 10 or 30.
