CLASS SUMMARY:
This is the first of six levels in the Transportation series. Incumbents transport customers in a small passenger vehicle. Responsibilities may include driving a small passenger vehicle on an assigned route; inspecting assigned vehicle for cleanliness and safety; performing routine, minor vehicle maintenance; selling tickets and collecting fares; and maintaining records of activities.***PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION THAT MAY INCLUDE WORKING SOME EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS.*** Example of Duties

TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
- Drives a small passenger vehicle for the purpose of transporting riders to applicable locations, including special events.
- Performs pre- and post vehicle inspection activities to identify maintenance needs.
- Performs routine cleaning activities.
- Sells tickets and collects fares.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of operational records and reports.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE(positions in this class typically require):

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
Licensing Requirements:- Valid Driver's License with an F Endorsement.
Knowledge of:- Safe driving principles and practices;
- Cleaning principles and practices;
- Basic maintenance inspection principles;
- Cash handling techniques;
- Customer service principles;
- Recordkeeping principles.
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Skill in:- Customer service principles;
- Reading maps to following routes;
- Conducting bus inspections and recognizing defects;
- Completing forms, reports, and logs;
- Performing cleaning duties;
- Handling cash;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, and extreme temperatures.
