Position Summary
Austin Peay State University is currently seeking a full-time, temporary three-year renewable instructor in the area of English Composition and World Literature. The Department offers both online and on-campus courses. The Department of Languages and Literature promotes the value of language learning, good writing, critical thinking, and an informed appreciation of literature to our students, the university, and the community. The Department of Languages and Literature offers students small classes with experienced faculty.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Teach English Composition I, English Composition II, or Traditions in World Literature, and other courses as needed by the department. Class design must adhere to the curriculum developed by the department. Some committee work required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with in-person and online teaching. Knowledge of introductory rhetorical concepts, research, and argument.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- MA in English or MA in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in English.
- PhD/MA in English or Rhet/Comp, MFA in Creative Writing are highly desirable.
- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
