The Community School of the Arts is currently hiring two Summer Arts Day Camp Assistants. The assistant will work 5-6hrs a day, Monday-Friday for the weeks of July 7-11 and July 14-18 on the APSU campus. There are three shifts during camp. 8:15am-1:15pm, 10:00am-4:00pm or 12:30pm-5:30pm. The camp assistant will need to have an interest in the arts, but most importantly, enjoy working with children ages 8-15yrs. The camp assistants will need to be responsible, punctual, and friendly. The camp assistants will be in charge of checking the children in and out with parents, help lead the children to different locations and help instructors in their classes with getting supplies ready and helping clean up. The assistants will also help organize and run games and activities with the children after lunch. A successful background check will be required for employment. Pay rate is $15/hr. and lunches are included each day of camp.
Camp Assistant Duties:
- Check children in and out of the camp.
Check in – 8:30-9am
Check out – 5-5:30pm
There will be two assistants at check in and two at check out.
- Lead groups to classrooms, activities, and lunch.
- Take children on bathroom breaks.
- Lead game and activity times (All assistants will be present).
- Assist instructors with handing out supplies, setting up, and clean up.
- Distribute and keep up with name tags throughout the week of camp.
- Hand out t-shirts (using the roster)
- Help with setting up Friday Showcase
