The Community Care and Prevention Program Coordinator reports to the Director for Community Care & Standards and plays a vital role in fostering a culture of student support, well-being, and accountability at Austin Peay State University (APSU). This position coordinates student nonacademic misconduct cases, develops educational and prevention programs, provides resources for students in need, and collaborates with campus stakeholders to support student success. The coordinator will also assist in crisis management, policy updates, and engagement initiatives that promote student learning, development, and well-being.
This position requires sensitivity to confidential information, ensuring student privacy, and compliance with university and legal policies. The Community Care and Prevention Program Coordinator will work collaboratively across multiple university departments to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities include:
Student Support & Case Coordination
Coordinate the management of student nonacademic misconduct cases through Maxient case management software.
Maintain accurate and confidential student case records in compliance with university policies and applicable laws (e.g., FERPA, Title IX).
Provide resources and consultations to students, faculty, and staff with questions regarding policies and procedures.
Promote a culture of strength-based learning, student agency, and well-being by developing educational tools, resources, and training for faculty, staff, and students.
Coordinate student conduct investigations and processes related to academic and nonacademic incidents.
Enforces and communicates university policies and standards of conduct
Conduct investigations into alleged violations. Coordinates disciplinary hearings and corrective actions.
Offer follow-up support and conduct regular check-ins with students to monitor progress and address emerging needs.
Program Development & Training
Collaborate with the Director for Community Care & Standards to create and implement prevention, awareness, and educational programs related to student conduct, well-being, and risk reduction.
Develop, implement, and evaluate programs focused on Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) education and sexual assault prevention, aligning with best practices in harm reduction and campus safety.
Create content for presentations, workshops, and training materials to be delivered to students, faculty, and staff on topics including, but not limited to:
Student conduct policies and procedures
Alcohol and drug harm reduction strategies
Sexual assault prevention and awareness
Bystander intervention
Facilitate presentations and training sessions for student organizations, residence halls, academic classes, and new student orientation programs.
Develop and implement marketing materials and digital resources to engage students in prevention efforts and policy education.
Attend campus events and resource fairs to educate and bring awareness to potential, incoming, and current students about student rights, responsibilities, and support resources.
Assist in training student leaders, peer educators, and campus partners on student conduct policies and best practices for addressing student concerns.
Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to student conduct and care coordination.
Prepare reports on academic integrity trends on campus and provide them to campus stakeholders as requested or on a project basis.
Crisis Management & Prevention Initiatives
Assist in handling student crises and emergencies, including referrals to medical or mental health professionals.
Serve as a liaison between students and campus/community resources to provide holistic support.
Implement and support initiatives that focus on harm reduction, wellness promotion, and student safety.
Department and Division
Serve as a key leader in assisting the University's response in a crisis, including outreach and support to students and their families.
Provide consultation to faculty or staff responding to students in crisis.
Collaborates with campus partners to provide intervention support for students.
Coordinate timely and accurate preparation of reports.
Stay informed and educate the University community and stakeholders as needed regarding issues, trends, and regulations affecting the student crisis and conduct. Participate in related professional organizations for continuing development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and related experience.
Knowledge of best practices within student conduct, violence prevention, care coordination at a university or college; experience with program planning.
