Assistant Chief Instructor, Helicopter

The Assistant Chief Instructor Helicopter reports to the Program Director/Chief Helicopter Pilot for performing duties assigned. This individual is required to pilot the aircraft in accordance with all applicable FAA regulations. This will be a non-tenure track/ 3-year renewable contract.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the instructor of aviation science lecture and lab online and face to face courses as required. Serve as Pilot in Command and Instructor Pilot of Robinson R44 and Guimbal G2 Cabri helicopters. Duties will be performed at Clarksville Regional Airport (KCKV). Occasional travel may be involved.
Performs other duties as required to include, but not limited to responsibilities in support of the following:
Conducting flight training to include Flight Training Device (FTD) instruction.
Transportation of equipment, personnel, and VIPs.
Conducting maintenance check flights.
Writing and developing curriculum.
Conducting classroom academics.
Enforcing all FAA regulations.
Student assessment of course and flight materials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work alternative schedules as required for academic or FAA needs.
Physical Requirements
Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently to flight control surfaces. Must be able to move and load 50 lbs. of materials without assistance or use of additional equipment in a timely manner.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Aviation or closely related field, master’s degree preferred.
Valid and current Rotorcraft Helicopter CFII certificate
Current second class FAA medical certificate
No previous aviation accident record
No previous suspension or revocation of pilot designation(s) or rating(s) (e.g., FAA and military)
The following current FAA ratings are required:
Certified Flight Instructor – Helicopter
Certified Flight Instructor Instrument – Helicopter
Applicant must meet the requirements for Assistant Chief Instructor in accordance with FAR 141.36.
