The School of Nursing is seeking part time nursing clinical adjunct faculty. Adjunct faculty
are essential to the mission of the SON. Positions are available every semester. Course
availability, clinical site, and hours are variable. Alternative scheduling can include
evenings or weekends. Availability of teaching assignments vary based on each
semester’s enrollment.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsibilities for the pre-licensure courses include managing a group (usually 6-8) of
nursing students in the nursing laboratory and/or clinical facilities weekly throughout the
semester;
- Coordinating with course faculty and clinicians at clinical sites to make patient
assignments;
- Evaluating your students’ clinical work.


Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force
frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.


Required Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelors in nursing is required; Masters in nursing is preferred
- Current Licensure as an RN in Tennessee or compact state
- A minimum of 2 years nursing practice in the last 3 years in the clinical area you are
applying for.
- Optional: Other licensure/certifications
- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.

The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department.
Each applicant must include the names and contact information for three references,
one of which must be from your most recent or current employer, with your application
