Position Summary | The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the Physical Plant Warehouse, Central Receiving, physical locks/keys, electronic access control, departmental accounting, work order processing, and departmental timekeeping.
Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 180,000 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN. |
Primary Duties and Responsibilities | - Manage office clerks who assign purchase orders, process bid requests, order parts and materials, maintain accounting and purchasing records, process work orders, maintain timekeeping records, and produce reports from the CMMS software (4 employees)
- Manage Central Supply and Receiving personnel who are responsible for receiving shipments, stocking and issuing the warehouse inventory, and delivering packages.
- Manage Lock Shop employees who are responsible for managing building access, maintaining building door hardware and the campus key inventory (2 employees)
- Responsible for maintaining physical key inventory and electronic door access database and periodic audits of each.
- Coordinate annual inventory of Physical Plant warehouses and bulk fuel.
- Responsible for posting and selling surplus property on GovDeals online public auction site.
- Responsible for facilitating the annual capital asset inventory for all university departments.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Ability to detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors in written correspondence.

- Ability to effectively supervise personnel and complete all associated personnel actions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to effectively monitor budgets and associated expenditures.
- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Ability to accurately order, issue and maintain an inventory of supplies and repair parts for the University.

Physical Requirements | - Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications | - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of previous work experience in Accounting, Supply and Receiving and/or Warehouse Management.
- Additional relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis
- A background check will be required of the successful applicant.
