Position Summary | The Assistant Director of Game Day Operations for Austin Peay Athletics plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of all athletic events. This position is responsible for overseeing event management, coordination of gameday staff, and liaising with external partners. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Game Day Operations and other Athletics Department staff to create a first-class experience for athletes, staff, fans, and other stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities | Event Management Oversight - Oversee all aspects of event management for APSU Athletics, ensuring that each event runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with coaches, athletic staff, and other relevant personnel to meet specific event needs.
- Manage logistical details, including venue setup, scheduling, and coordination of event resources.
Liaison for Tourbeau Production - Serve as the primary point of contact for Tourbeau Production, managing the relationship and ensuring seamless execution of production-related aspects for events.
- Ensure that production needs are met, including media, live streaming, and other technical services.
Scheduler for Officials and Game Day Staff - Schedule all officials and game day staff members for athletic events, ensuring adequate coverage for all sports and events.
- Maintain clear communication with officials and staff to ensure all roles are filled and responsibilities are understood.
Oversight of APSU Athletics Student-Worker Program · - Supervise the APSU Athletics student-worker program, including recruitment, training, and management of student employees on game day.
- Assign responsibilities to student workers and provide guidance to ensure their successful contribution to event operations.
Lead Assistant in Game Day Operations - Assist the Director of Game Day Operations with the coordination and management of all Game Day activities, ensuring operational success.
- Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during events.
Liaison for External Events - Serve as the primary liaison for external events hosted by APSU Athletics, including coordinating logistics, staffing, and operational needs.
- Collaborate with external partners to ensure events align with the department’s goals and standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | - Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly in managing staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of NCAA and/or collegiate athletics regulations and policies is a plus.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements | - Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications | - Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in a team environment with a background and/or understanding of collegiate athletics.
- Operations experience that leads to a successful game day or event.
- Previous experience in event coordination, sports operations, or a similar field preferred.
- An acceptable background check will be required of the successful applicant.
- An official transcript and names, addresses, and phone numbers of three (3) references will be required for the successful applicant.
