Position Summary | The Application Developer is responsible, at the request of other University offices, for analyzing functions to be performed and determining if computer-based solutions are appropriate. As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and solutions specifically tailored to the needs of a higher education institution. This position works under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Enterprise Applications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities | - Development and implementation in a relational database environment.
- Integrate third party systems with the ERP system.
- Provide support for ERP system and related external systems.
- Ensure data integrity and security.
- Install patches and upgrades as needed, coordinating, and advising systems and database support personnel with each installation.
- Design, test and implement computer information systems and programs to enhance and support administrative business functions for the University.
- Document system configurations, customization, and development processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party developers as needed for system enhancements or integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, project managers, and system administrators to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Consult with customers on programming issues and problems.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | - Knowledge of Unix, C, PL/SQL, HTML, Java, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of Ellucian Banner modules, such as Student, Finance, Financial Aid, HR, or any other relevant modules.
- Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word.
- In-depth understanding of higher education workflows, processes, and regulations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Physical Requirements | - Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications | - Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of relevant work experience; OR a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience required.
