Position Summary | The Coordinator, Student Affairs Communications and Marketing reports to the Director, Student Affairs Assessment, Planning and Communications. The position is responsible for the development and management of content for a variety of communications, publications, promotional materials and managing social media. This position will have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position works directly with the Student Affairs communications team and the Public Relations and Marketing team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to advance the vision of Student Affairs at Austin Peay State University. Primary Duties and Responsibilities | Communications and Marketing - Procure and write original content for publications, web pages, emails, brochures, flyers, and other types of marketing and informative communications.
- Create, curate, and produce content and layout for newsfeed and division newsletters.
- Write and edit original marketing and promotional content for other division projects.
- Produce, review, and proofread content, design and layout with lens of established branding guidelines and style.
- Review related images to ensure standards and quality projects.
- Develop and manage engaging and appropriate content and create graphics for social media accounts and apps.
- Liaise with the APSU Office of Public Relations and Marketing, Govs Print and other communications teams.
- Ensure adherence to APSU Public Relations and Division of Student Affairs branding, procedures, processes and guidelines to produce routine and special publications across multimedia including print.
- Assist lead staff and team members to conduct maintenance and updates of webpages.
- Maintain processes associated with content such as forms, databases, etc. and assist with managing associated software platforms.
Department and Division Leadership - Maintain open communications with the Director, Assessment, Planning and Communications to share information and engage in issue-spotting and creative problem-solving to fulfill goals.
- Openly collaborate and participate with Student Affairs communications team.
- Maintain familiarity with division departments, programs and initiative, and strategic plans and goals.
- Coordinate timely and accurate preparation of reports, budgets, and related university business.
- Manage job related priorities and deadlines for deliverables.
- Participate in related professional organizations for continuing development.
- Train and supervise student employees and interns.
Skills and Technology - Create and publish effective and directed messaging using email platforms, social media, publications and multimedia software.
- Produce and create content and coordinate production of a variety of communications and publications.
- Prepare and design effective promotional materials including use of appropriate content, images and photos.
- Effectively use web technology, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Teams, and other related software platforms.

Physical Requirements | - Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications | - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience as a full-time professional or graduate assistant experience.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling, and creativity.
- Knowledge of best practices within publications, communications, multimedia, and branding.
- Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools.
