Position Summary | The IT Business Systems Analyst conducts business process analyses and needs assessments to university business processes. Responsible to develop and maintain system and business process documentation, prepare functional system and program specifications and requirements, develop custom university workflows, maintain third party integrations, and develop visualizations for business data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities | - Analyze university business processes to plan and design custom workflows for various university departments.
- Update, implement, integrate, and maintain numerous third party software applications; allowing APSU to integrate with numerous third party software vendors and allowing users to be able to use new features and/or information tracking that is provided by vendors. Act as liaison between university staff and the vendors.
- Formulate and define project objectives, scope, implementation plan schedule, and prepare functional, system and program specifications.?
- Develop and maintain system and business process documentation
- Provide project facilitation on small to medium size projects.
- Assist in test patching the ERP environment and function as QA liaison between functional units, OIT, and the DBA.
- Organize testing of user systems; update plan, organize, and conduct user training.-Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | - Knowledge of current business processes and their functionalities.
- Demonstrable proficiencies in reporting, analytics, SQL, ETL, and Linux.
- Ability to analyze and comprehend a wide variety of university business functions and activities and to be able to leverage information technology in support of those functions.
- Ability to define, research, and develop effective solutions to meet client needs and to present such information in a clear and logical form, orally, and/or through written media
- Knowledge of system definition, design & implementation.
- Knowledge of Q/A test patching.

Required Minimum Qualifications | - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field or four years of equivalent experience.
- Experience developing efficient organizational processes.
- Experience with computer systems analysis, design, techniques, development, and methodologies.
- A background and credit history check will be required of the successful applicant.
